In Jax
Posted on July 18th, 2009 No commentsFolks, I’m going to Jax the last week of July. I’ll be landing on 7/26 at approximately 10a. I will need a ride to my folks place from the Ponte Vedre Inn so I may just start begging for that now. I’m leaving on the 30th and have to be back at the Ponte Vedre Inn at 5p to catch the airport shuttle. Let me know if anyone can ferry me back and forth and who wants to go grab a drink. I’ll be available most nights.

Baking
Posted on June 1st, 2009 No commentsThe folks at work sometime comment that I should bring in some of my creations. It’s time for me to get back into my baking and use my skills for others.
If you have any recipes that you would like to pass over I’ll give it a shot. Try to keep them to baked goods.

Morning Ride
Posted on May 23rd, 2009 No comments
Pretty Creek on my ride this morning
I have this ride I go on now when I want to just get the muscles warm. The ride is about 20 miles there and back from my house. Today I had planned on going on the Suck Creek Mountain to Signal Moutain ride. Unfortunately, my knee is still giving me a little bit of trouble so I turned around at this point and just went home.
I joined the Chattanooga Bike club yesterday. I figured that since I like riding I should find a few folks that like to go riding too. There’s a few at work but most are too busy with life and kids and family to go when I want to go. I figure the club will have all types of people with all types of schedules and I’ll always have at least someone to ride with. We’ll just have to see how that goes.

Moving on, Sometimes

My key chain
I’ve had this key chain for at least 15 years. Julie, an old girlfriend, gave it to me. I still use it because it’s very functional. I tried once to use a new key chain. It was a failed effort. I just like this key chain.
I’m like this about a lot of things. I keep things. Lately I’m reconsidering this way of life. I’ve decided that I should streamline. Question the things I have in my life to see if I should keep them. Over the next couple months you may find me purging. I hope you dont take offense I just think it is something I need to do right now in my life. Oh and if you think I’m going to get rid of this key chain you’re wrong. It’s with me till the end of days.

Wednesday
Posted on April 29th, 2009 No commentsI’m excited about the future. I hope it works out the way I dream. We all need some of our dreams to work out. However, sometimes we also need to give our dreams a little push. Maybe some help to realize their potential. Let’s hope I’m doing the right things to push my dreams along.

Faith
Posted on April 27th, 2009 No commentsFaith is a hard thing to have. In my mind its something that you have in something based on truth that comes from the core of your being. I have a hard time believing in something that much. Lately I’ve been questioning what faith I have. In what. Why. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a very empty person. I don’t trust nearly enough. I have very little belief in things I haven’t overanalyzed deconstructed and then put back together. In discovering this I am trying to make a conscious effort to be a better person.
However, in cleaning a mess you sometimes have to make a bigger one. Please forgive me while I make a mess of my life for a while. With your help I’ll be a better person. Someone you can count on and someone you like.
Thanks in advance for your help and support.

NYC trip.
Posted on April 16th, 2009 No commentsI’m actually writing this on the plane. I decided not to waste the travel time and instead broke out the laptop to tap out a few words. It’s a strange one today.
Today is one of my friend’s birthdays. I would be very remiss in my duties to not tell him Hello, Happy Birthday I hope that you and your family are well. Let’s get together soon.
Let’s talk about work a bit. Our annual event in NYC celebrating our suppliers is today. I’ve not worked at a company that makes such a special effort to be sure that not only its employees are well but all of the people we work with as well. As small as the event is it’s a nice gesture to give back to all of the hard work that our suppliers give without expecting anything in return. I hope we are able to continue the practice for many years to come.
I’m excited to see some old friends today. I hope we can have the time that we need to catch up and laugh about the past. On days like these I miss my old friends. I haven’t seen so many of you for so long. I wish I’d gone to our 10 year HS reunion. Well communication has never been one of my strong points. I’ll make sure to go to the next one.

Church, missing art and spin class
Posted on April 13th, 2009 No commentsSo I went to church this Sunday. It was really good. I haven’t been to church in a while and the last time I went it was for a wedding. So a friend of mine asked me to Sunday Easter service. I was nervous about going but it turned out to be quite awesome. The sermon was terrific. Very relateable. I’m definitely going to go back.
I posted earlier about missing art. I just don’t know where it went. I routed the art on Wednesday. Took it to the lawyer dude myself. Today,it was no where to be found. I decided it wasn’t worth it to continue looking so I just had the artist reroute. I know that rubs some of you artist friends the wrong way but when you find a solution for art that goes missing let me know. Till then I’ll just reroute.
Last up is spin class. Most of you that really know me know that I’m really a one on one guy not a group guy. So I usually don’t go to group exercize class. Well I’m deciding to try to make changes in my life so I’m challenging my fears and I went to spin class. As it turned out, it was pretty good. A great workout, and I met a few folks. The instructor is nice and I think I’ll go back.

It’s been a while
Posted on April 9th, 2009 No commentsSorry folks. I know I haven’t been very good about updates and notes. I’ve been a little busy and tied up in my own head. Well I promise that over the next month I’ll improve. Watch this space for more fun about what’s in my head than what you really want.
That said, this is a holiday weekend and I have plans. Tomorrow I’m going to do a quick upgrade to this site. I’m a few versions back and would like to see the benefit of the better code the new version provides. Then Saturday I have a ride planned. Sunday is Easter and I have sevice to attend. That’s right friends you heard it here first Will is going to go to church. After the service I think I’ll go for another ride.
All that said, while I promised a new set of posts with updates and such It may take a day or so to get going.
In the mean time if you read this maybe you send in some topics. I love my friends and I’d like to start having a conversation with you. I’ve been told that listening me do my inner monologue via blog is sometimes funny it is often a bit scary.
Thanks again folks for being my support team. You really are invaluable.

New Order
Posted on March 10th, 2009 No commentsThose of you that know me from years past will know how this pains me to state this. After years of sitting on the hard drive I’m revisiting my New Order collection. I realize now that they really sucked live. Makes me sad I drank the kool-aid and was such a Zealot.

Sign of age
Posted on March 9th, 2009 No commentsThe link below is about the CD format turning 30. I remember my first CD. It was the Smiths Meat is Murder. I went to the mall with Loren Jones and bought it. Just this year I sold it at McKays. What was your first CD?

All Alone in the little city
Posted on March 5th, 2009 No commentsThe wife went to see her dad for the weekend. She left me all alone with the dog that doesn’t like me and three crazy cats. I think I’ll work on the house a little. The cable run to the bedroom needs replacing. I may go on a ride. In fact I will go on a ride. A long ass ride. So if you wanted to see me Saturday you are out of luck. I’ll be on my bike going up a hill all in my head.

Apple 16/600 under Windows 7
Posted on February 28th, 2009 3 commentsI did it again. I upgraded without looking. Again my trusty Apple printer suffered the fate of no driver included with the install. However, this time I figured I was safe. I mean I knew that I could just use the HP driver for the Laserwriter III again. Well damn it all. The HP driver was nixed from the list in Build 7000 as well. Not to panic I went on a driver search. Knowing that the XP drivers would work I started there. No Dice. Not even the HP site had love for me. Well let me take that back. I did find an install called lj275en.exe. However, the install didn’t work. I tried on many different computers and it won’t drop the drivers in a folder like most of the HP installs do. (If you ‘ve messed with HP downloads you know what I mean.) I tried to look inside the exe with some software and that failed with it saying the .exe file was broken. I tried downloading the file from HP again. Same deal on all fronts.
Well folks, Usually this is where I break into song and end with a miracoulous move solving the issue. I’m sorry to say that I don’t have a solution yet. It may be that I must give up my old (14yrs) printer and get a new one. If I do that I’ll follow up with what I bought as a replacement and what happened to trusty Kermit (the Apple Printer).
In the meantime I challenge you, the readers of this note to help with this search. If you can get the above driver to work please post. If you know of another driver, please post. And I promise. If I figure it out. I’ll follow up.
Thanks

Working. I’ve got a bunch of reports to do today. Plus I’ve got some scheduled meetings. As so far I’ve accomplished little but planned a lot. Reminds me of a story I heard about a guy who plans his life away but never gets to the execution point. Good story. Ok On the the work.
